What to Expect
Ideas Exchange
This segment of the meeting is focused on sharing ideas about self-improvement.

Each meeting, a different member of the Overlap will moderate a motivational group discussion based on an idea they are presenting. This idea can be based on pesonal thoughts, motivational videos, books, etc.

The moderator is allowed to choose any topic they please, so long as it is centered on improving ourselves or our world. If a media or text will be shared, it is expected that the moderator will inform the group ahead of time so people may watch the video or read the document to come prepared with ideas.

Our aim is to not only consume Uplifting and thought-provoking information, but to then expand our impressions and ideas with those around us while challenging their validity with the multiple perspectives that will be present. We accept that many might come to different conclusions, and respect everyone s individual right to their opinion and desire to respectfully learn from the diverse range of views.
Service Planning
After our self improvement discussions, we will brainstorm ideas or solidify plans on our community outreach service projects.

The motto "Improving yourself is the first step to improving the world" is the core purpose of our group. This section of the meeting is where the rubber meets the road. We are the helping hands of our community. We are willing to go and do whatever is needed and do not focus on any one specific method of outreach. This meeting time will be used to plan future service projects, to gather suggestions on work we could help our comunity with, or to discuss organizations that may need our assistance.

Rules of Engagement
No Ad-Homonym Attacks
We encourage all voices. Opposition is expected. But, please be sure to express yourself in way that oppose ideas and not people. (ie. I dislike the color blue , not I dislike everyone who likes the color blue .)
Give Everyone a Chance to Speak
We know it can be exciting to share our opinions, but we grow when we hear those different from our own. Make sure everyone has had a chance to speak before you do again.
Be Civilized
Keep your language clean and respectful.
Be Concise
There will probably not be enough time for everyone to say everything they want. With that in mind, please be concise when sharing your ideas.
